Bible Study in the Wilderness(Arano Seiken)
|
In addition to regular Bible studies conducted at the church, Kohitsuji no Mure has a
unique way of studying the Bible. Given a specific Bible verse every month, each one
goes to the Lord to be still before Him alone (that is, the wilderness), and meditates
upon the verse (see meditation). Listening to the Lord alone, we write a report on the
subject verse, and submit it to the headquarters. These reports are read by Peter,
Mitsuko, staff workers and others, and selected reports are shared among the
participants. Such exercise helps us not only hear the Lord's voice, but also open our
eyes to new perspectives on the living verses of the Bible which we directly experience
in our daily lives.

"Come and Buy"
Due: October 26, 2007
|
Ho, every one who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who
has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without price.
|
(Isaiah 55:1 RSV)
|
What does this verse mean? What does it mean to tell him
who has no money to come, buy and eat? What does it mean
to buy wine and milk without money?

participants in the Bible study in the wilderness since the subject in November
2005. We hope that more and more people will know a joy of listening to the Lord
alone in the wilderness and sharing what is told by the Lord there. We are
looking forward to receiving your reports! ※
